Cooking lessons for young people on a budget
We’ve held cooking sessions for the young people we work with in the past, and they’ve always proved incredibly popular. These sessions promote healthy eating and demonstrate to the young people that it’s possible to cook and eat healthily on a budget. This money will provide cooking lessons for six young people, as well as the equipment they’ll need for the lessons. Read more »

A reading club for the local children we work with and workshops for their parents
We’d like to set up a reading club at our centre where children can access a range of books, as well as engaging in arts and crafts and creative writing. We’d also like to hold some workshops for parents, where they can learn the best ways to support their children through reading at home. This money will pay for books, arts and crafts materials and the costs of the workshops, including a teacher. Read more »

Many of the families we work with have never been on holiday together. We’d like to send ten families on a short break. We’d do this once they’ve completed the support plan we’ve set together, and they’ve shown real progress in working towards a more positive future for their children. Read more »

Soup and sandwiches for our group sessions - help our young offenders to turn their lives around.
We run a group work programme for local offenders, to teach them new skills, help them to stop offending and change their lives for the better. We’d like to provide them with some soup and sandwiches. Many of our group members are homeless, and having something to eat will help them to focus on getting the most out of these sessions.
