My Action for Children (beta)

Help our children to play in the rain with a Rainy Day Box!

What we needed: We’d love to buy a Rainy Day Box full of fun items for the children who visit us to use when it rains. The box includes ponchos, boots, floating toys, bottles to measure the rainfall, and a rainy day book packed with ideas of inventive ways to play in the rain. So even when it’s soggy outside, the children can still have a great time in our garden!

The difference it'll make: We provide services for vulnerable families in Chickenley, Earlsheaton or Shawcross who have children under five. Many of them don’t have a garden of their own, so when they come to visit us we want to make our garden an exciting place for the little ones to play.

You can never predict what the weather will be like, so we want to make sure that even when it pours it down our children have fun things to do outside. Playing in the fresh air is so important for children, and we know they won’t be put off by a little rain!
