Support our Children's Centres

One children’s centre closes every week

Up and down the country, support for children from poor backgrounds is disappearing. Children’s centres – vital hubs of support for families – are closing at a rate of one a week. We're doing everything we can to get the government to understand how important these services are, and how closing these centres is leaving thousands of children and families without any support. But, we can only campaign and lobby the government with your support.

Will you donate to help us be there for every child?

My local children’s centre was a lifeline for me when I had postnatal depression. I truly believe that my son and I wouldn’t be here today without the support and help I received.

"Coping with postnatal depression and being able to socialise with other mums in a safe environment makes a huge difference.

I think it's extremely short sighted not to realise the value of these centres to give children the right start in life."

Charley, Twickenham

We can only campaign and lobby the government to protect vital children's services with your support. Please, make a donation and help us continue campaigning for the UK's most vulnerable children.

£3 a month could help pay for a child’s place in a playgroup

£5 a month could fund a disabled child’s place in an after-school activity session

£10 a month could buy pens, paper and paint for an after-school art club

How Action for Children works: from before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help vulnerable children across the UK. We help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse. Our 7,000 staff and volunteers operate over 600 services, improving the lives of 390,000 children, teenagers, parents and carers every year.
