Making a huge jump on my 21st birthday

Michael recently turned 21 and he is terrified of heights. So jumping out of a plane 12,000 ft above the ground may not seem like the perfect way to spend his 21st birthday. But Michael was determined to do something incredible, to raise money towards disability services. So last month Michael woke up on his birthday, got in a plane and jumped thousands of feet from the skies of Peterborough.

"We fell straight into a massive rain cloud - it was windy, wet and cold!"

"I was completely blown away, literally! The one minute of free-fall was so, so noisy and all your senses are just going crazy then the next minute the cord’s been pulled and your floating silently down beneath the clouds with amazing views all the way over to Northampton."

I’m so chuffed I actually did it, and what a birthday to remember. I’m never going to forget being allowed to control the chute, spinning left and right all the way down. Everyone should try it and raise money for a great cause at the same time.

Michael has raised over £500 so far. This will make a huge difference to the short breaks service in Wellingborough. The short breaks service, for disabled children and young people, are a way for them to meet other people, learn new skills and have fun. We are so grateful for Michael's support, and the difference it will make to the children.

If you want to make an impact on young people’s lives like Michael, then sign up to a fundraising event today.
