Action for Children recently welcomed new trustee, Reverend Dr Sheryl Anderson.

She replaces Reverend John Howard who resigned in July to take up a new post with the Methodist Liaison Office in Jerusalem.

Revd Dr Sheryl Anderson

The Action for Children Board of Trustees formally meets six times each year and is responsible for setting strategy and overseeing performance. Trustees and committee members are appointed for the skills and experience that they bring to the organisation and we involve children from our services in their selection. All our trustees give their time voluntarily.

Since becoming a trustee in December 2011, John Howard has worked hard to strengthen the charity’s links with the Methodist Church, whilst also ensuring that it focuses on its calling. John O’Brien, Chair of Action for Children’s Board of Trustees, described him as an inspirational trustee. He said, “He speaks with the gravitas of a Reverend and linked the Christian principles to our corporate objectives to ensure that the voice of the Methodist community was heard, and our Methodist heritage remembered."

"We would like to thank John for all his hard work and time that he has given us."

Sheryl Anderson, who is also Liverpool District Chair, will bring a wealth of experience from a background in social outreach, teaching and social work. We're very pleased to have her on board.
