North Glasgow Family Support Team

Holiday activities. Local children need help to make the most of their holidays.

What we need: We’d like to fund some outings and activities during the school summer holidays for some of our most disadvantaged and vulnerable children.

The difference it'll make: The North Glasgow Family Support Team is an outreach service that works with vulnerable children under 12 and their families.

Many of our mums and dads are living under the huge strain of long-term unemployment, poor housing and communities rife with crime and neglect. Taking their children on trips and outings in the school holidays is completely beyond their reach financially, and lots of local children have never spent even a day away from their immediate communities.

We want to show them a little bit of the big wide world! This funding would mean we could pay for transport, food and entrance fees for an exciting variety of local days out and activities.

Not only would this be a truly amazing experience for our families, but it would really help the children to build confidence and feel less isolated.

We’d like to take 43 children and 22 parents for some days out at a cost of around £15 per head.
