Support for disabled children and young people in Wales

In Wales we do a lot of work supporting disabled children, young people and their families.

These disabilities range across the spectrum and include children and young people with physical and learning disabilities.

Short breaks

We also have 6 Residential Short Breaks Services, which provide short respite breaks for children and young people aged 6-18 giving them a high quality break from home and their families much needed respite.

All of these short breaks services are registered with the CSSIW and are fully inspected each year.

All staff have or are encouraged to register with the Care Council for Wales and are enabled by Action for Children to obtain the relevant qualification.

ll the centres have a fully qualified Project Manager and are over seen by 2 Responsible Individuals who both have over 30 years' experience in Social Care.

Residential short break services can be found in the following areas:

  • Ty Storrie in Cardiff
  • Ty Robin in the Vale of Glamorgan
  • Ash Square in Rhondda Cynon Taff
  • Park House in Neath Port Talbot
